First appointment is for Evaluation of the Team (dog & handler).
You will need to bring to this session:
Dog & equipment that you have been using
Letter that you have a disability from your physician or Disabled Parking Card
Letter from your vet that the dog is mentally & physically able to start training as an Assistance Service Dog-ASD (if dog is over 8 months old)
Essay from you about why you want your dog to become an ASD & what you plan to do if the dog does not become an ASD (around 50% of dogs either program-trained or owner-trained do not become ASD).
Fee $95-$120 (no Debit or Credit cards, if using a check, please make out to Jeanine's Professional Dog Training)
Then 12 customized lessons … one 1-hour lesson per week involving:
- Training (is held in the follwing places):
- Home environments
- Stores
- Restaurants
- Parks
- Airports
This program is sometimes taken twice or more (depending upon the age of the dog & the level of training when starting the program & how much training you do on your own). Pre-payment each time is required.
Testing is done when the team is ready for it. The dog must pass the CGC first & be between 18 months & 4 years old. The fee for testing the team is $200 (this reflects a $100 discount).
You will need to attend group classes either before the private sessions start, or during the sessions, to teach your dog how to work around other dogs that he is not familiar with. Pre-paid fee is $110 for 6 week class (1 hour per week)
We also offer Private lessons for Assistance Service Dog training on Aircraft, Ships & Trains. Fees are all expenses plus $200 per day.
